The ECDL European Computer Driving Licence

The ECDL certificate is recognized in 148 countries as substantiation of fundamental IT knowledge. Over 1.000 ECDL testing centres exist alone in Germany. The contents of the seven ECDL modules are laid down by the ECDL Syllabus and updated regularly.

Preparation for the ECDL is flexible (more information).

The European Computer Driving Licence is an initiative of the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) in association with the European Union (EU). The DLGI, a spin-off of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V., is responsible in Germany for realising the concept.

The ECDL Foundation in Dublin is the worldwide supervisory authority and authorization centre for the ECDL. The institute develops ECDL standards and rules and checks these against a quality assurance system.
